Work Colleges
Most college students work, but at some colleges all students are required to work a certain number of hours each week. One reason is to lower the cost of their education. Another is to help them to understand the value of work as part of the educational experience and as a way of examining some of society's values.

Students at work college learn leadership through participation, often as they prepare for future careers. Community service constitutes a significant portion of the work college experience.

Some colleges that require students to work are part of the Work Colleges Consortium.
